About Me

I am an aspiring animator who gave up a career at Game Retail Stores after 8 years to pursue my dream job of becoming and character/creature animator. I was a deputy manager at Game, where I started as a Christmas temp. From there, I went straight into a senior position due to my people skills. Here I learned valuable lessons in organisation, prioritising, and working/assisting people from all walks of life.

From a full-time position, I took a part-time job at the computer game desk at Smyths Toys, being responsible for it at the weekends. This was a new challenge and great to see customers I met from working in Game. During the week, I began following my ambition to become a 3D animator at New College Lanarkshire, Motherwell in 2015. I then moved onto Abertay University, with my HND in Computer Animation, to study for a Honours Degree in Computer Arts. Here, I have worked on a variety of projects, including one of the most rewarding I have taken part in so far. In my 3rd year, I was part of team who were tasked to create a game based on the sport, Boccia. It focused on accessibility and was created for the use of the charity, CHAS University has been a great way to use my skills from working to keep up to date with my course and work in teams with others. As well as building on my animation skills and learning new programmes, it has been really interesting to learn the progress of creating games and how animation differs.
